Sketching Restraint

(Level IV) Sketching Restraint A minor-tinged medium-up swinger with modern jazz inflections and rock intensity, this chart was a winning entry in the 2009 ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award. The piece is written to feature a trumpet soloist with strong range, but includes alternate feature parts for guitar or soprano saxophone that work equally as well. It can be heard on The Ninth+Lincoln Orchestra’s debut CD. (8 Brass)
